My name is Val Murray, and I've loved reading and writing fiction since I was a kid.

I grew up surrounded by books, in a neighbourhood where there wasn't a lot else to do besides let my imagination run wild. I read pretty much everything I could get my hands on, and when I ran out of reading material, I started coming up with my own stories. My literary passions are mostly speculative fiction (fantasy and sci-fi) and other genre fiction, for young readers and for adults. I've just published my second children's picture book, and a third is on the way. I also write fan- and original fiction for adults under various pseudonyms.

I received my BA in English from Lakehead University in 2023. I currently live in Thunder Bay with my cat and my book collection.
